WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Today, the United States Senate passed the Senate-led, bipartisan Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. U.S. Senator John Fetterman worked to ensure the bill included key wins for Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was proud to vote for this year\u2019s National Defense Authorization Act months ago and see it pass the Senate with strong bipartisan support, and I was proud to support the bill again today,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>said Senator Fetterman.\u00a0\u201cPennsylvania\u2019s military installations and defense industry continue to play a key role in supporting allies like Taiwan, Ukraine, and Israel against attacks on democracy abroad. By working with my colleagues here in Washington, I made sure that we were able to support vital jobs in Pennsylvania, increase pay for our servicemembers,\u00a0and protect our economic and security interests from our adversaries. I\u2019m also proud that this bill is free of any changes to the Pentagon\u2019s policies that allow women to get the reproductive health care they need. I strongly urge my colleagues in the House to pass this bill so that President Biden can sign it into law.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Senator Fetterman championed the inclusion of nearly $300M in funding for Pennsylvania military installations, secured key funding to modernize and sustain the Pennsylvania-based defense workforce, and supported funding for critical Pennsylvania National Guard programs.<\/p>\n

Senator Fetterman also supported critical research initiatives at Pennsylvania’s colleges, universities, and research institutions, as well as investments in our National Guard’s efforts to stem the tide of deadly drugs across our borders and into Pennsylvania’s communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false}}
