Washington, D.C. \u2013<\/strong> Today, U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) condemned the Trump Administration\u2019s decision to bar transgender individuals from serving in the U.S. military and called for an immediate reversal of these policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a video posted to X<\/a>, Senator Fetterman stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am unapologetically pro-military\u2014I believe in a strong, lethal military. But I am also unapologetically pro the LGBTQ community…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am calling on President Trump to rescind this executive order\u2014<\/strong>to allow and honor the inherent dignity of our servicemembers regardless of what their race is, what their gender is, who they love, or how they identify.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA military that respects and supports all of its members is fully capable of being lethal and winning wars.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a memo enforcing a ban on transgender individuals from enlisting in the armed forces and eliminating access to gender-affirming medical care for current service members. The memo, addressed to senior Pentagon and military leadership, follows an\u00a0executive order\u00a0President Trump\u00a0issued last month<\/a>, directing the Department of Defense to exclude individuals who identify with a gender different from their biological sex from military service.<\/p>\n","protected":false}}
