This resolution aims to uplift the courage and resilience of the transgender community while shedding light on the persistent challenges they face.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u201cToday and every day, I\u2019m proud to stand with the transgender community and recognize their resilience, bravery, and invaluable contributions to our society,\u201d<\/strong>said Senator Fetterman.\u00a0<strong>\u201cAs violence and discrimination against transgender Americans rises across the country, it\u2019s our duty to stand firm with the transgender community in advocating for equality, dignity, and respect.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The resolution, led by\u00a0<strong>Senator Schatz<\/strong> (D-Hawai\u2018i), is cosponsored by U.S. Senators\u00a0<strong>Jeff Merkley<\/strong>\u00a0(D-Ore.),\u00a0<strong>Tom Carper<\/strong>\u00a0(D-Del.),\u00a0<strong>Mazie K. While we\u2019ve made progress over the years \u2013 thanks to the bravery of many transgender leaders \u2013 the work for full equality, acceptance, and civil rights protections continues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The resolution is supported by the National Center for Transgender Equality, the Human Rights Campaign, and the Congressional Equality Caucus.
