WASHINGTON, DC \u2013<\/strong> Pennsylvania U.S. Senator John Fetterman released the following statement after the Senate passed a 6-bill \u201cminibus\u201d that will prevent a partial government shutdown and fund key projects across the commonwealth. The bill cleared the Senate by a 75-22 vote today and will be sent to the president\u2019s desk:<\/p>\n

\u201cI came to Washington to fight for every community in our commonwealth. I am proud to have worked with my colleagues in the Pennsylvania delegation to fund our government responsibly and secure critical funding for projects across the state.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis bill will deliver vital investments across Pennsylvania, including for infrastructure, farmers, schools and universities, our servicemembers, local communities, and so much more,\u201d <\/strong>said Senator Fetterman. \u201cI am particularly proud that this bill fully funds SNAP and WIC with no new restrictions. I didn\u2019t come to the Senate to take food from hungry kids and families, and I\u2019ll keep up that fight.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

Senator Fetterman personally secured $21,686,000 in funding for 19 projects in 15 counties across Pennsylvania and worked with Senator Casey and his colleagues in the House to secure nearly $100M for 77 projects across 42 counties.<\/p>\n

Specific projects in Pennsylvania that Sen. Fetterman pushed for in Congressionally Directed Spending requests include:<\/p>\n

  1. $3.3 million<\/u><\/strong> for the Dauphin County Bridge Improvement Program<\/li>\n
  2. $2 million <\/u><\/strong>for housing projects in the Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre<\/li>\n
  3. $2 million<\/u><\/strong> for affordable housing in Bedford County<\/li>\n
  4. $1.9 million<\/u><\/strong> for Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region<\/li>\n
  5. $1.8 million <\/u><\/strong>for creating a safer, more efficient Clarion County Courthouse<\/li>\n
  6. $1.4 million<\/u><\/strong> to support water quality in Williamsport<\/li>\n
  7. $1 million <\/u><\/strong>for improvements to Allegheny County Airport<\/li>\n
  8. $799,000<\/u><\/strong> for transitional living facilities in Lancaster County<\/li>\n
  9. $564,000<\/u><\/strong> for the City of Clairton Public Library<\/li>\n
  10. $494,000<\/u><\/strong> for the Oil City Library<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false}}
