WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/strong> \u2014 After President Trump refused to sign the bipartisan and bicameral 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act<\/em>, the housing package is now forced into law as outlined in Article 1, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution. The legislative package includes a pair of bills Senator Fetterman introduced \u2013\u2013 the Whole-Home Repairs Act<\/em> and the Housing Supply Frameworks Act<\/em> \u2014 and were the result of working across the aisle and putting the housing needs of hardworking Americans first. U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) today released the following statement<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud to finally see this housing deal become law. My Whole-Home Repairs Act and Housing Supply Frameworks Act will lower housing costs and keep affordable housing on the market.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a major step in fighting the housing crisis we see right here in Pennsylvania and across our country. I\u2019m grateful to Pennsylvania Senator Nikil Saval, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, and all others who helped in a bipartisan manner to get this over the finish line.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act<\/em> included<\/a> Senator Fetterman\u2019s Whole-Home Repairs Act<\/em> and Housing Supply Frameworks Act<\/em>. Both bills have been part of his longstanding commitment to addressing the housing crisis since he was sworn into the United States Senate.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Whole-Home Repairs Act<\/em><\/a> will build on the success of Pennsylvania\u2019s successful Whole-Home Repairs program, which helps homeowners and small landlords make critical repairs, lower utility costs and keep safe, affordable housing on the markets. The program has invested in workforce training and apprenticeship opportunities, which prepares the next generation of skilled workers.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Housing Supply Frameworks Act <\/em><\/a>will give communities the tools and assistance they need to modernize outdated zoning and land-use policies, reduce barriers to development and increase the supply of affordable housing. This bill will make it easier to build more homes and lower housing costs for working families, by helping local governments identify what works and provide solutions.<\/p>\n
