Washington, D.C.<\/strong> \u2013 Today, U.S. Senators John Fetterman (D-PA) and Bob Casey (D-PA) celebrate the Senate\u2019s confirmation of Catherine Henry to serve as a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Henry, who will serve in the Lehigh Valley, is the eleventh Pennsylvanian to be nominated to the bench by President Biden and confirmed by the Senate, of which nine have been women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why I was proud to advocate for her nomination and to join my colleagues today in confirming her to the federal bench,” said Senator Fetterman.<\/strong> \u201cCathy will be the kind of judge who truly understands the challenges everyday Pennsylvanians face because she\u2019s spent her career working on their behalf. Henry has dedicated her legal career to public defense, representing some of the most vulnerable individuals in Pennsylvania. Since 2002, she has served in the Federal Community Defender\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where she currently works as Senior Litigator. Previously, she spent six years as an Assistant Defender with the Defender Association of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A graduate of Drew University and the University of the District of Columbia School of Law, Henry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. Her confirmation underscores the Biden Administration\u2019s commitment to appointing judges who bring diverse experiences and a dedication to equal justice under the law.<\/p>\n","protected":false}}
