That kind of energy dominance starts in Pennsylvania,\u201d <strong>said Senator Fetterman.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019ve been proud to advocate for solutions that put American jobs first and fully recognize we need guardrails in place to protect this industry and the workers. This bill makes sure decisions are made objectively while protecting the millions of jobs that power communities across Pennsylvania and our great nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAmerica\u2019s energy producers shouldn\u2019t work in fear that a future administration could kneecap them with burdensome restrictions at a moment\u2019s notice due to ambiguous laws,\u201d <strong>said Senator Cornyn.<\/strong> \u201cOur commonsense legislation would clarify the Natural Gas Act to give LNG producers the certainty they need and deserve to continue powering the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>LNG Export Security Act<\/em> amends the <em>Natural Gas Act <\/em>by defining \u201cpublic interest\u201d with the consideration of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The development of natural gas facilities in the United States and the domestic natural gas supply;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Domestic economic interests; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National security interests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The LNG Export Security Act is endorsed by the American Exploration &amp; Production Council (AXPC) and the Center for LNG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the Biden Administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/penncapital-star.com\/energy-environment\/biden-administration-to-temporarily-halt-some-export-approvals-for-liquified-natural-gas\/\">pause on LNG exports<\/a> in 2024, Senator Fetterman raised concerns over the decision and the potential long-term impacts it would have on the jobs of hardworking Pennsylvanians. He <a href=\"https:\/\/penncapital-star.com\/briefs\/fetterman-casey-release-statement-expressing-concerns-over-pause-on-liquefied-natural-gas-exports\/\">highlighted<\/a> the history of Pennsylvania as a leading energy state and second largest natural gas-producing state, and vowed to push back against the administration if energy jobs in the commonwealth were threatened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Fetterman continues to push for all-of-the-above energy policies that put Pennsylvania at the forefront, protects the jobs of those who keep our country running, and secures the U.S. energy supply.<\/p>\n","protected":false}}
